I came to this bug report through its duplicates. When opening a new application Compiz minimize animations will minimize to the mouse cursor instead of their location on docky. This is pretty consistent for newly opened terminal windows, but after some time the seem to behave properly. This doesn't happen with any other panel or dock on my system.

It would appear that the problem corrects itself when you either rearrange the icons/launchers already on the dock or when the dock is expanded because of the appearance of the icon of an application for which there is no launcher. Another way to fix the problem is to simply right-click any icon, launcher or docklet. I am largely ignorant, but I think figuring out why these events make the dock behave correctly might give useful insight into how the problem might be fixed. Since I am able to manipulate the dock into behaving corrently by using either of these methods, I cannot help but think there ought to be a relatively simple fix for this problem just waiting to be found.

One more thing: Note that the all of the methods I suggested above only work for applications that are already running. If you subsequently launch any other applications from Docky, the new windows will still not minimize correctly until either of the previously mentioned actions are performed again.

FYI, rev 1508 fixes the problem with newly opened windows not having a minimize animation.

The general problem of them animating to the wrong spot still exists. Which also means the window previews can still be in the wrong location.

Also, when reseting the Zoom option, or changing the numeric value, Windows Previews behaves correctly again.
