Bug Description

Hi,

Some windows do to minimize any effect when I have the "compiz-fusion" enabled. For example the windows of the terminal or system monitor window.

I use karmic koala and docky 2.0 alpha-1 r816

Sorry for my english.

Works fine here. I use compiz and have no problem minimizing/restoring/maximizing any windows including gnome-terminal or system monitor.

Changed in docky:

I can not explain right now because I have the effect of the screen shot in "compiz" and when they attempt to minimize some windows do not make the proper effect. With other docks it works perfectly.

I can not explain more. Just do not do the effect in some windows.

Once again, I have this effect enabled and it acts totally normal for me.

Add a video.

Watch the terminal window and calculator. In chromium and emesene works.

I understand your problem, I'm just saying that it isnt happening for me on Karmic with Compiz. So there is something else going on there, and it may be Compiz's fault. At this point I have no idea because I dont know what is different between your setup and mine.

Strange, since I use Docky (including Docky1) this happens. Even after doing a clean install of Karmic Koala (With Docky 2)

Anyway, I hope someday to know what happens!

Greetings!

I have just compiled docky from bzr. And I captured a video to show my problem clearly.

Sorry for spamming, but i accidentally send bug and can't find a way to edit it.

In video, at the ending part, you can see chromium window is minimizing to cursor, not to docky. I had to try it for a lot of windows because it happens randomly.

It has been half an year, and I am still waiting for a workaround for this bug. Otherwise, docky gets really bizzard to use.

Yes well, none of the devs can reproduce this bug. So the odds of it being fixed are near 0.

Also this is only an aesthetic problem so it is *very* low priority.

Oh and last time I checked, 2 months != half a year.

OK, so it happens really rarely? Then I guess what I could do is getting a
new laptop to get it fixed?

I have the same problem but it isn't consistent - sometimes the window animations work, and sometimes they don't

usually they don't work for new applications I launch, but after they've been open for a while and minimized/unminimized a few times the animations work again

I don't think the problem is in compiz because it works fine with other docks/panels

I can't diagnose what causes the animations to start working again - but it seems to happen when a new application is opened

xorg-server 1.7.6
docky-bzr 1257
compiz 0.8.4
gnome 2.30

This is just another way of observing bug 495065. Basically compiz will minimize to the icon region, which is set by Docky. This region is also used for triggering window previews.
