Bug Description
I have installed edgy beta on my laptop and I have a strange problem:
sometimes (several times every day) my system become irresponsive, I have to wait about 30 seconds and the system become responsive again...
looking at the logs I found the cause of this irresponsiveness.
the following logs are about two system locks I have just experienced, one at 11:15 and one at 11:21...

I can confirm this, it is the same for me on my Acer Aspire 9412AWSMI. 2.6.17- 10.33-generic, too.
The sata drive always showed this timeouts on Dapper 2.6.15-xxx
and does not work with a backported 2.6.17-

The drive is a Seagate ST9120821A REV 3.06
There were lots of SATA patches in kernel 2.6.18, maybe a backport of these would help (if these were not backported already).
