If my dvd is NOT empty there is no problem ... if it's empty I randomly get reports like
   - ata2 failed to respond ...
   - ata2: translated ATA stat/err ....
   - cdrom (ioctl) error ...

that freezes the system ...

This problem not exists with kernel 2.6.12, it appears with 2.6.15 and 2.6.17
