Bug Description

I saw some of hang/stall/lags bugs reported but found none seemingly quite as mine (may have overlooked some though)

Well the problem I have is weird. It's some some sort of random stalling on the system that usually goes from 30 seconds to about 2 minutes. The frequency of this is also random it might happen once or twice every 5 minutes for an hour or so. Or sometimes it happens once or twice in an hour. It doesn't seem to have nothing to do with system usage, because just yesterday I've been using the computer intensively for about 12 hours in a row without any of that stalling happening (although that much time without any of that stalling is rare, usually it happen every day, some days more than other without apparent cause). This stalling can "block" either an application or more, all the applications in a workspace, or all the workspaces as I said earlier they are usually 30 seconds to 2 minutes long in the worst cases. However after the stalling "wears off" things run normally almost like nothing has happened until the next stalling. For example gedit, gaim conversation window, or xchat blocks if I keep typing there it is buffered and and after the stalling wears off it is displayed. The same happening to movies if a 1 minute stall happens while I'm watching some movie, the movie stops playing the moment the stall begins, but when the stall ends, the movie resumes playing 1 minute later as it never stopped playing. Thinking this might be something related with the graphic drivers i've tried running the pc with "nv" and "nvidia" drivers and also with and without beryl running. The stalls happen in all situations that I've tried. I've been using FEISTY since the Herd 5 beta and i've done all the updates, I'm not quite sure when this situation arose during the development but I know that at least from kernel 2.6.20-13 to 2.6.20-15 it happens. At first I dismissed it but as a minor inconvenient development glitch but it still haven't gone away so it might be serious. I have a friend that as a laptop model almost the same as mine and he says that the only stalls he has are only a couple of seconds long at most. I'm nto quite sure what more to say and probably I've been ranting incomprehensibly, but here's some tech info:

Laptop model: Asus Z92J Series
M/B version: A6JC

uname -a
2.6.20-15-generic #2 SMP Sun Apr 15 07:36:31 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux

glxgears -info
GL_RENDERER = GeForce Go 7300/PCI/SSE2
GL_VERSION = 2.1.0 NVIDIA 96.31
...

For now I have no idea what else more might be relevant, let me know If something more info might be (another stall just happened while typing this, this one a short one.. about 10 seconds long) neeed, or if I'm just being dumb as hell or something.

Thank you for your time
