Bug Description
I have just installed Breezy Badger on a system with no IDE discs just a single
SCSI disc. The system does though have a compact flash and a memory stick
reader plugged into the USB hub of the monitor which is plugged into the machine:
|> lsscsi
[0:0:1:0] disk IBM DPSS-309170N S96H /dev/sda
[1:0:0:0] disk eUSB Memory Stick 5.0C /dev/sdc
[2:0:0:0] disk Generic STORAGE DEVICE 0119 /dev/sdb
When the install happened /dev/sdc1 was written as the boot device instead of
/dev/sda1 into the /boot/grub/menu.lst file. Manually editing the default in
the file and rerunning update-grub cured that problem.
I note though that during boot Breezy Badger has a long delay and then a BIOS
hand-off failure relating to ehci_hcd which presumably relates to the memory
stick device. So it seems /dev/sdc1 is still being used in some way during
boot. Debian Testing which was on the machine before Breezy Badger did not have
this problem but booted very quickly. Breezy Badger does boot so this is not
blocking but it is irritating. Very.
