installer names usb "disks" before main scsi disks

Bug Description

during the initial startup of the 5.10 installer, it finds usb disks (i have a
multi-card reader installed on usb 2.0 add-in card).

the usb disks are named sda-sdd. THEN it finds the main system scsi disks and
names them sde and sdf. install proceeds till reboot.

upon reboot, the system does not find a system disk at sda and we end up in a shell.

WORK-AROUND: i remove the usb 2.0 card and re-run the install which finishes
correctly. i re-install the card and re-boot. works.

a clarification:

it is the usb device with the card slots that is being made into scsi disks.

one does not have to remove the usb card from the bus, just disconnect the multi
slot card reader from the usb card.

i tested this this afternoon. thanks.

This is still happening in dapper 6.04 flight 4 install... however, when you reboot, the 'installed' kernel, correctly lists the first scsi drive as sda instead of listing card readers first...

While some people have card readers built in that can't easily be removed, they tend to be notebooks with IDE disks, so I imagine this problem isn't cropping up for tooo many people..

There is another bug entered describing this problem that I also commented on.. however I lost track of it ;)
