Bug Description

python-central 0.6 uses now a package and tool independent directory
to store the architecture independent files. Files which were located
in /usr/share/pycentral/site-packages/<package> are now located in
/usr/share/pyshared. Your package apparently hardcodes the former
location in some places. Please fix the packaging to work with the new
file locations.

This issue also affects Debian and a number of packages in Debian have already
been updated. The affected packages may just need a synch/merge.

The packages listed as affected all failed a recent test rebuild of the
archive. It may or may not be a result of the python-central changes.
Attached it a list of the build numbers for each package. You can look up
the builds at:

I don't see where this is hardcoded in xapian-bindings - the only match for a grep for pycentral is where we call "dh_pycentral". If there is an error, please point out where it is and I will fix it in the debian packages I'll be preparing shortly.

The buildd failure is due to you trying to build xapian-bindings 1.0.4 against libxapian-dev 1.0.5 (which the build-deps don't allow), so I suspect xapian-bindings is a false positive.

Thanks for the quick and detailed response. It sounds like you are right.

python-kde4 failure appears to have been caused by lack of build-dep on python-sip4 that's already been fixed.

  * Adjust debian/rules so that it no longer removes the empty /usr/lib that
python-central no longer creates (LP: #204895) so the package will build
  * Change maintainer to MOTU

No. This is a Launchpad problem. The bug number is referenced somewhere

Please sponsor this debdiff for sqlrelay.
The FTBFS was caused by the compiler flag -Wno-long-double, which seems to be caused by a change in gcc 4.2.3-2ubuntu2. See also the similar case with petsc in bug 199256.
As debian/rules already had the logic to use dpatch, I made the change to configure using dpatch and added dpatch as build-dependency.
The package builds fine in a Hardy pbuilder. By also patching config.mk.in and configure.in, the package also builds when autoreconf is used.

Looks like a new version of wxglade was just added to debian:

The new debian package also appears to fix the python-central issue:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=472037

I will examine the differences in the current ubuntu package and the new debian package more closely tomorrow.
