Hi:

its the ultimate media down loader and the you tube music down loader.

It says package failed check your INTERNET connection.

It is your server my Internet speed test is over 128gbs.

Sometimes it asks me for my email address for my Ubuntu account so I
give it.

then says NOT AUTHORIZED!

All I see is problems on your side.

I am an electrician I can certify my INTERNET is working just fine!

I suggest you fix your server.

Regards,

Mike Wall

Hello,

I'd like to ask you to please calm down. We're looking into what may have happened but need some more information before I can suggest possible solutions.

If we are unable to resolve this situation we will gladly refund the amount of your purchases.

Which version of Ubuntu are you using?

Do you know how to use the terminal or command line? (this is so I know whether you're comfortable using it so I can suggest some commands to type and diagnose the situation).

I have Ubuntu Studio 16.04 LTS on one hard drive and Ubuntu Studio 14.04
LTS on the other.

I am comfortable using the terminal if I am shown exactly what to enter
into it.

I am also calm, just tired of not getting any solutions. Can you tell by
my account what I paid for so we know how to proceed?

Thanks for finally helping!

Hello, I think we can try setting the PPA (repository where the package lives) manually. The packages are specific for each version of Ubuntu and the purchases you made are for 14.04 packages, so please try on this version only.

To get a list of your package purchases, or subscriptions, go to https://software-center.ubuntu.com/subscriptions/. For each package, click on the link provided and you'll get to a page that says "Deb line for YOUR PACKAGE NAME for Ubuntu 14.04:". Below that text, there's a long line beginning with deb, similar to this (this is just an example, don't use this one):

deb https://roadmr:<email address hidden>/commercial-ppa-uploaders/some-name/ubuntu trusty main

Open a terminal, then type this to open a new text file:

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list.d/purchases.list

Copy the "deb" line from the web page into this file (ensure it's only one line for each package), then save and close the file.

Next, open a terminal and run this:

sudo apt-get update

Next, run

sudo apt-get install youtubemusicdownloader
sudo apt-get install ultimate-media-downloader

to install the software.

I adapted those instructions from here, just for reference:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Pay/FAQs/Manual_Install

Also, as for the explanation: this appears to have happened because Ubuntu Software Center can only automatically set up the repository if you're using stock Ubuntu with the default desktop, not one of the variants like Ubuntu Studio.

Please let me know if you run into any issues with this procedure.

Hi Daniel:

I am now only using Ubuntu Studio 16.04.2LTS Release amd64 xenial.

I do not plan on switching unless I like a future release of LTS Studio.

I have tried your directions but does not work for my version.

Someone from ultimate media downloder made it so it just needed my email
address to unlok it and works fine.

I STILL cannot install these PAID software items How can these be
installed on my Ubuntu Studio 16.04 ????

  * YouTube to MP3 for Ubuntu 14.04

  * All Video Downloader for Ubuntu 14.04

  * Beantrader Latinum for Ubuntu 14.04

  * My-Weather-Indicator for Ubuntu 14.04

  * Youtube-music-downloader for Ubuntu 14.04

Your help WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Hello,

As I mentioned in my earlier comment, packages are specific to each Ubuntu release; thus, those packages originally purchased for 14.04 can't be installed on 16.04.

If you don't have an Ubuntu 14.04 system available, the option I can offer, as mentioned above, is to have the cost of the purchases refunded to your account.

Let me know if this is acceptable. I apologize for the inability to install the software in the new version; packages are tailored to the specific Ubuntu version for which they were published.

Yes Please refund me I do not have 14.04 I have Ubuntu Studio 16.04.

It is much better for my Photo, video and sound editing.

I thought Ubuntu programs would work on all.

The Ultimate Down loader 2 is the only one that is currently working.

Thank you for letting me know.

Mike Wall
