Bug Description

2 problems :
- first : For scanning n sheets, I need scan n+1 sheets. When I open the .pdf created, the n+1 sheets is white.
If I don't do that, for scanning n sheets, I get a .pdf whith n-1 sheets. The n page is white.

I don't understand what is the problem.

- second problem : when i want scan n sheets with the "unwinder" on the top of my printer e-all-in-onethe Hp officejet Pro 6830, I get a total .pdf white !

each time, I connect a data USB on the front of my printer e-all-in-one Hp officejet Pro 6830.

Please, could you some one can help me ?

Bien cordialement,

F.

To understand your problem better, please provide the followings.

- Run 'hp-check' in terminal and provide the result. The latest version is 3.15.2. If hp-check version is not that, please install hplip from hplip.net

- Which scan application are you using?

For ADF scanning, scanner takes all papers present in the feeder. however if a number 'n' is mentioned in the application, it will scan only 'n' pages.

Hi !
Ok, I will check if the last version 3.15.2 is installed.

For my problem with the ADF scanning, I'm not sure if you have already
understand :
Of course, if I have a number "n" of sheets in the feeder, the ADF scanning
takes "n" sheets and the .pdf created contain "n" pages but the last page
of my .pdf is white.
So my .pdf contain not my last sheet.
is better to understand for you ?

Hi,

Please run the command 'hp-check -t' in the terminal and paste the result here. Let us know how you are scanning the documents, whether using HP Device Manager or from other applications.

hi !
sorry for my lateness ( I have just had a baby...) ,

I have found a solution : I have just installed windows XP and dowload the
hp driver. In this case, the problem is solved : when i scan several sheets
and I select directly my "windows" computer (no using USB devise), I get a
good .pdf in my "windows" computer

but when I scan sheets ans I select "USB devise", I have the problem : " I
have a number "n" of sheets in the feeder, the ADF scanning takes "n"
sheets and the .pdf created contain "n" pages but the last page of my .pdf
is white. So my .pdf contain not my last sheet."

So tomorrow I would test your suggestion 'hp-check -t" in my Ubuntu and I
will give you the result...

thank you very much for your advise..

Configure the device using  'hp-setup' command.

Next, run commad 'hp-scan' or 'xsane' to scan from the device.

Hi DELAFALIZE,

Answer to the question on comment#9,

HPLIP does not support 'scan to computer' option or any of the printer initiated scan operations.

For ADF scan, please refer the documentation at http://hplipopensource.com/node/191

Hope this helps. Let us know the result.
