This is a known issue and we actively have developers working to get you a fix asap. Sorry for the troubles. The kernel oops you're seeing is already reported in bug 212100. bug 212271 also sees similar issues. The oops is originally a result of a fix for bug 202065 and bug 201431. A fix was temporarily commited (see bug 212960) but this resulted in machines locking up at boot :( So the patch was reverted: https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24 . I'm going to go ahead and mark this as duplicate of bug 212100. We'll be sure to keep you posted with the current progress there. Again, sorry for the breakage and thanks for your patience.
