pinging this bug, even after update to Inkscape 0.48.1 r9760 I have the same problem.

Do I need to update cairo libraries?

I work a lot with EPS figures, this is rather crucial to me (not at all Medium Importance). Any information is welcome.

This bug is possibly related to Bug #694553 "Save a copy...EPS fails when many paths"
