Incomplete picture when saving in eps

Hello,

I am using Inscape0.47 and Inscape0.48 under ubuntu 10.10
Since 2 days I have some trouble when saving an svg file to a eps file.
In the eps file, several parts of the initial picture have disappeared. I have this trouble in the both version of inkscape.

It might caused by the update of the cairo libraries ?

In attachment, there is a snapshot of the original svg file and a snapshot of the eps file.

Can you help me to fix this problem ?

Please attach the SVG and EPS files for further investigation.

Possibly similar issue as in bug #534679 “Cairo-based export not exporting all elements” <https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/534679>.

but Saving in pdf or exporting it in bitmap works fine !

Not reproduced with Inkscape 0.48 and 0.48+devel r9775 on OS X 10.5.8 (cairo 1.8.10)

I don't have the same font installed but that doesn't seem to be an issue with your EPS export either (same font is used for all text objects). None of the text objects is missing in the EPS file I exported from Inkscape 0.48 (cairo 1.8.10) as far as I can tell.

@JazzyNico - do you already have cairo 1.10 installed on your Ubuntu and could test if the export errors depend on the cairo version?

It does not only affect the fonts but also the drawings (for example the squares around the numbers)

What I meant to say was that the missing objects don't seem related to the font used - making the fact that my system lacks the specific font not relevant for the difference between the exported EPS files.

Not reproduced on Ubuntu 10.04 (cairo 1.8.10), Inkscape trunk rev. 9775.

@~suv - I have cairo 1.10 on a virtualized installation of Ubuntu 10.10, but it is currently unavailable... I'll test it later.

I have juste re-compiled and re-install inkscape0.48 but it still does not work ...

Do i have to wait for a new version of cairo ?
Or is it better to downgrade my ubuntu ?

pinging this bug, even after update to Inkscape 0.48.1 r9760 I have the same problem.

Do I need to update cairo libraries?

I work a lot with EPS figures, this is rather crucial to me (not at all Medium Importance). Any information is welcome.

Fixed confirmed with patch from bug #813886 applied to cairo 1.10.2 (Mac OS X 10.5.8 (i386), Inkscape 0.48.2).
