Best Regards,

Sorry for the delay in replying, I've been trying a few things out.

I opened the svg file I had been working on during the previous crash and
added various inkscape shapes to it.
I did not save the file.
I then opened outlook - no problems
Closed outlook - no problems
Opened Internet explorer - no problems
Closed Internet explorer - no problems
I then imported another dxf file, ran the same programs, no problems.
I then copied and pasted text and ran the programs again, no problems.
I then opened oulook again and clicked on reply to contact you and the
python window opened and shut down inkscape.
I had a message again this time stating that it could not find fonts.
I have repeated the exercise of copying and pasting text and then opening
outlook and it has crashed on one occasion but not others.
I am unable to reproduce the crash on a consistent basis.
But it does only seem to crash when text is involved, as you suggested.
I recall that it crashed yesterday when using word so the text issue would
seem to be the most likely.
I'll keep trying with text based issues but I will be packing up for the day
in about 30 mins so it may be tomorrow before I have anything to report.
Regards,
Karl

a) Could it be that the error only occurs if you recently copied text in
Inkscape to the clipboard before launching Outlook?
b) Does Outlook have some kind of clipboard monitoring function/option?

Background of my questions: on linux it is known that third-party
applications that monitor the clipboard (mostly download managers
watching for URLs copied to the clipboard from any program) interfere
with Inkscape's internal clipboard handling and trigger an apparently
random input or output extension (most are based on python and some
display error messages from UniConvertor - a python based helper
application for some import and export file formats).

_possibly_ related report: Bug #418242 "Incorrect call to output plugins
(with persistent error message) on copy":

A message appeared to say that the Uniconvertor failed. Unfortunately it
would not allow me to copy the text in the error message and whilst trying
to copy and paste it put another error message up to say that unexpected
error had occurred and shut down.
Hope this helps, keep up the good work!
