Bug Description

The fact to translate or not the key combination end up in weird translations on some language.

For instance, using French:
- Press Super
- See "Super + Left ou droit"

This is because:
hints_.push_back(new shortcut::Hint(windows, "", _(" or Right"), _("Semi-maximises current window."), shortcut::COMPIZ_KEY_OPTION, "grid", "put_left_key"));

So either we should get some translation (from another app?) for all space/right/left/up/down… translation and switch that on the fly for the overelay, or we should get no translation for them (apart from "or"). However, some language will maybe put the translated or after "Right".

I can only think of it being an issue if "Left" is not translatable,
which I think I've just discovered it isn't.

So the bug should probably rather be about key names in the overlay not
being translatable.

Also note that the Ubuntu docs mention "Meta" instead of "Super", so
either the docs or the overlay should be changed to keep consistency.

Maybe strange translations are a consequence of some untranslatable strings. In Slovenian all strings are translated and yet some of them appear untransalted such as Tap and Press in the HUD section (but translated elsehere).

It seems strings "Left", "Up" and "Down" are also not marked for translations.

This bug is not fixed here (Unity 5.10.0-0ubuntu2, from proposed repositories).

keyboard shortcuts are still untranslated (French). And the "Switch windows of current application" shortcut is still set to "Alt + Oe" which is wrong even in English.

What shortcut are untranslated? it seems correctly translated in french here

So there is the "Alt + Oe" thing. But also in the Workspaces section there is "Shift" and "Control" which sould be "Maj" and "Ctrl" (this one also in English).
In fact, all shortcuts read from compiz settings seem to be in English.

Note that the Unity French translation is complete and that I did a "unity --reset".

Those are different issues from the originally reported one, the name of the keys are not translated indeed

Yep, but where should they be translated? There is nothing in the Unity template...

they should probably be yes, could you open a new bug about the specific cases for ctrl and shift? I can't confirm the "oe" issue, it's displayed as "twosuperior" here
