kopete does not recognize logitech usb webcam

Binary package hint: kopete

logitech webcam pro is detected with "webcam" program (image is seen on screen, although no audio)
However, Kopete does not produce an image when settings - configure - devices is invoked.
"Logitech notebook quickcam pro" is detected, green led comes on in camera but no image produced within kopete, no matter if other settings are moved arround.

This is kubuntu feisty 03-03-2007 in an dell inspiron 6400. Some time ago in an earlier version (I did not regiter which, sorry) it worked but rather than saying in input "webcam" it said "usb".

Confirmed as 04-12-2007 on kubuntu feisty fully updated. Moreover, wecbam works fine with xawtv

Model is Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000. Output from lsusb follows:

This error is still present in the version of kopete included in kde 3.5.7 that is available for kubuntu feisty

From the comments posted, it looks like somebody created a patch for kopete that seems to fix the issue, there's also a .deb that seems to work:

Dear maintainers, you'll find the patch for the source code in attachment, done by Chuan-kai Lin.
It seems that this bug has not yet been reviewed, upstream at KDE...
And maybe it breaks other webcams support, I didn't test it.

Otherwise I built this .deb and it works well on my Feisty box (i386) and a Logitech Webcam Zoom, so feel free to use it. I'll keep it online for a certain time but don't expect security updates and so on : http://guillaume.duveau.free.fr/public/f/deb/kopete_3.5.6-0ubuntu9_i386.deb

Just for clarification : I didn't test the patch with other webcams but it work like a charm on the Logitech Quickcam Zoom.
