Installing packages from Windows shares or other FUSE file systems fails

There seems to be a programming error in aptdaemon, the software that allows you to install/remove software and to perform other package management related tasks.

I can't update my system or software by using Update Manager

I got the same message.

The file I was downloading from Ubuntu Software Center is: Google-chrome-stable version 6.0.472.63-r59945

Installing it to Ubuntu (64bit) 1010

I see the same problem. It happened after I rebooted following a system update (during which I'm sure I saw some apt packages being updated). I'm running 10.10 on Oracle VM VirtualBox version 3.2.8 r64453

The traceback I get is:

Reboots do not fix this problem

I've been unable to re-create this on my machine.
At the time I was running the update manager and the Ubuntu software centre, both just using Ubuntu repositories over the internet.

the problem has resolved........sudo dpkg --configure -a was enough for my problem
