Software center reports a programming error when synaptic is running

I was setting up and re-installing everything after replacing my hard drive. I downloaded the Opera .deb package and accidently selected to open with Software Centre.
The following was reported:

There seems to be a programming error in aptdaemon, the software that allows you to install/remove software and to perform other package management related tasks. Please report this error at http://launchpad.net/aptdaemon/+filebug and retry.
