Bug Description

I started to install kubuntu 6.10 beta. After copying the files the installer crasehd with the following output.

For me it seems, as if it crashed because my wireless network card lost connection (it worked before starting the installer).

Could you please try to reproduce this bug with some more debugging turned on? From a terminal window (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal) after a fresh boot of the CD, type this to start the installer:

  sudo env UBIQUITY_DEBUG=1 ubiquity 2>/tmp/ubiquity.log

If it fails in the same way, please attach /tmp/ubiquity.log and /var/log/syslog. Be sure to use a fake password (e.g. 'testing') for this test, as the password will appear in the debug log file. Thanks in advance.

Tried to make the setup with your command line, it does not work on kubuntu. Even when I try

sudo env UBIQUITY_DEBUG=1 ubiquity kde-ui 2>/tmp/ubiquity.log

it crashes on starting partitioning dialog (bug i filed earlier) with

This is far too early. Can you please tell me how to make this debug mode on kubuntu
If not, I will download ubuntu beta...

Debug mode works with

kdesu env UBIQUITY_DEBUG=1 ubiquity kde-ui 2 >>/tmp/ubiquity.log

on kubuntu.
