2006-10-03 11:26:43 Colin Watson ubiquity: statusexplanation Could you please try to reproduce this bug with some more debugging turned on? From a terminal window (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal) after a fresh boot of the CD, type this to start the installer: sudo env UBIQUITY_DEBUG=1 ubiquity 2>/tmp/ubiquity.log If it fails in the same way, please attach /tmp/ubiquity.log and /var/log/syslog. Be sure to use a fake password (e.g. 'testing') for this test, as the password will appear in the debug log file. Thanks in advance.

This is fixed in current Edgy; changelog below. Thanks for helping me confirm that this and many other bugs are fixed! debian-installer-utils (1.36) unstable; urgency=low [ Colin Watson ] * log-output: Use static functions where appropriate. * log-output: When using --pass-stdout, pass stdout file descriptor through directly, without the need for a stdout handler function.
