Bug Description
I hope I haven't come to the wrong place to report this: The German-language translation of Inkscape 0.47 (on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS) contains a spelling error: If you use the "Save" command when there are no changes to be saved, the status bar reads: "Keine Änderungen, die gespeichert werden müßten."
The correct spelling has been "müssten" and not "müßten" since the German spelling reform of 1996.

Not reproduced with Inkscape 0.47 r22583 and Inkscape 0.48.0 r9654 on OS X 10.5.8
The status line message reads: "Es müssen keine Änderungen gespeichert werden.". Possibly yet another case where Ubuntu uses its own translation files which have not been updated from Inkscape's source tree instead of the ones included in the Inkscape package? -> see bug #498362 for another example.
However 'ß' is used all over the German interface - if you really want to strictly adhere to the German spelling reform of 1996 I think you'd have to change it globally, not just for one message string.
