adding a transaction needs to be more intuitive

After adding an account, it isn't obvious how to add a transaction. Perhaps the control should be at the top, or blink like the account button when you don't have any (or both!).

Any opinions, anyone?

I agree. I just installed wxBanker on my Ubuntu box and I have started searching forums on-line to learn how to simply add a transaction. This control needs to be more direct for the end-user.

Thanks for the feedback drefooty! Do you have any suggestions? Does the idea of blinking the button to add a transaction, like the account button does, seem sufficient? And, do you like the placement and workflow of adding transactions once you understand it?

Just installed and I haven't found the control to add the transaction yet.
My suggestion is to simply make it a drop down menu option under a "file" menu option (not present however) and a clear "transaction" button above the ledger.

Oh, you didn't find it yet, I am very embarrassed as a UI designer! It
is on the bottom right, there are fields for data, description, and
amount, and you hit enter in any of them, or click the money button,
to enter it.

Starting to get the hang of it now.
But a transaction button as discussed before would be a great addition.

I think that for the 0.7 iteration, flashing the add transaction button like the add account button will be a sufficient band-aid for this issue. However I will do more user testing and see if any better ideas come out of it.

The add transaction button will now flash if there are no transactions in the current account, just like the account button if there are no accounts. Hopefully this will make it discoverable. I hope once it is discovered, it is simple and easy to use, but if not please let me know as I'd love to hear any suggestions on improving/stream-lining the workflow for adding transactions.
