Bug Description

This didn't appear to be any of the other reported bugs.

I have two "Desktop folder" icons, attached is a screenshot. They appeared normal, I had a terminal up, minimized it, and the netbook-launcher now appears as in the screenshot.

Karmic Beta, 2.6.31-13-generic
netbook-launcher Version: 2.1.10-0ubuntu1

Confirming that this occurs with my fully-updated Karmic beta install on an Acer AspireOne 110L.

Thanks for your feedback. Is there a particular way to reproduce the issue? or is it related to the content you have on your system?

No, I haven't had this happen since, I also haven't found a way to reproduce it. Since it happened, I restarted the machine and the problem disappeared.

Is this a rendering artifact or do both actually seem to respond to inputs independently? I can think of one way this could happen in code but the answer to that question really has a lot of bearing on it.

On my machne, I cannot reproduce it consistently; it seems random.

It seems like a rendering artifact, because when I hover my pointer over the "real" icon, both light up, but nothing happens when i hover over the "fake", duplicate icon.

When I had it, I had the same thing happen as Troy, when I hovered over the original icon, both would light up, when I hovered over the "artifact-ed" icon, nothing happened

I did have this happen again today. I had opened a folder from the launcher, closed it, and the menu appeared as follows in the screenshots: one with mouseover duplicate item, the second with mouseover original item.

Also, this was resolved by clicking the "Menu" button in the upper-left corner, revisiting "Files & Folders."

Can you please try with last lucid version, adding this ppa: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-desktop/+archive/ppa and then upgrading to get last clutk?

There is a proposed patch which should fix that.
Thanks for trying. I'm putting the bug report as Incomplete waiting for feedback.

I haven't had this happen in a while, again, I've been testing Lucid on it. i'll let you know if I do see it again and then I'll report which versions I have installed. Thanks for the time.
