helper-path displacement when pasting with nodetool

Bug Description

 * in preferences set "Store transformation: Preserved"
 * draw some path, copy it
 * switch to node tool
 * paste

Result: path is pasted correct but helper path is displaced, apparently with its bbox upper-left corner at (0,0) within current viewport. Parent transformations (scale, rotate, ... but not translation) are applied twice.

Could you please attach a SVG showing the bug?
Thanks!

@JazzyNico: happens with any file. Result looks like in given screenshot.

Not reproduced with Inkscape 0.46+devel r22179 on OS X 10.5.8
(toggling the node tool option 'Show the outline of the path' has no influence)

I can't reproduce with r22185, however, I have seen other quirkiness with the helper path stuff too. Care to check out https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/375165 ?

Back on-topic... Would you be willing to try it with a new preferences file? I don't think this will necessarily fix it, but it's worth trying imho.

Either way, I will try and hammer at this more later to see if I can reproduce.

that was a good hint, ScislaC. Removing the preferences file finally pointed me to options/preservetransform, so the bug only happens if transformations are stored "Preserved".

I still can't reproduce the helper path being offset, are there any other steps (however minor they may be) that are missing?

I did however get something similar and strange though... the helperpath is on the object exactly where it is pasted, but the node representation is up in the corner where your helperpath would be.

only if
 - transformations stored as 'Preserved' and
 - using freehand lines (pencil) in spiro mode
Result: the helper-path is displaced as in bug description. Changing to the select tool and back to the node tool (2x space bar) renders the helper-path correct in relation to the pasted path.

Same bug as reported by ~suv, except that I can reproduce it with all kind of path (converted shapes, pen, pencil, calligraphy...). Everything is ok when switching to the selector and back.

My fault - I didn't test it adequately: after changing the transformation setting _and_ restarting Inkscape I can now reproduce the bug with any path (as JazzyNico confirmed already).
