Is this bug preventing scrobbling from working as well? My last.fm profile shows my last play as being on 1 October 2009, despite me using banshee every day to listen to music and always being logged in to last.fm. Incidentally, the song recommendations feature is still working.

Edit: apologies - the "Enable Song Reporting" button had somehow been disabled. Scrobbling is working now.

The bug (no last.fm stations) still prevails in the 1.5.1 from the ppa. I don't really care about scrobbling but I'd love to listen to my webstreams via banshee.

I'm not sure why an older bug report with more information was closed as a duplicate of this one, but for those who are interested:

1. This problem in Banshee is caused by the new Last.fm radio API. The old API stopped working in March, but Banshee hasn't yet updated to the new one. This should only affect streaming Last.fm radio; scrobbling and recommendations should work normally.

2. This bug is indeed still an issue in the latest Banshee, and while it's a big bummer for people who love Banshee and Last.fm, developers are aware of it and working on it.

3. There's a separate git branch that has some developmental Last.fm stuff. I can't remember exactly, but I think this issue is being addressed there. If you're brave, I'm sure developers would love if you would help test http://gitorious.org/~bl8/banshee/bl8-clone. I'm not sure how the database from that branch matches up with 1.5.1's database, so make sure you backup your banshee.db file before you try it out.

Feel free to add to this conversation at the upstream bug report (gnome-bugs #541227), and until that bug report is closed, it's safe to assume that this is still an issue.

I can confirm that this is still a bug on Karmic RC with Banshee 1.5.1. Recommendations and scrobbling work but last.fm radio streams do not.

A fix has been committed to git master. The fix should be released in the next version of Banshee. If you can't wait, you can build from the latest source. There are instructions on Banshee's website [1]. This fix will probably show up soon in the Banshee daily PPA[2] as well.

Sorry for the back-and-forth with triaged -> fix committed -> confirmed, etc. Apparently I can only change the status of the "banshee (Ubuntu)" bug, not the status of the "Banshee" bug (perhaps because it's assigned to a gnome-bugs...?) Anyway, sorry for the noise. A fix was committed, even if it doesn't let me say so. :-)

The bugwatch (the link to the gnome bug) is broken. This can happen because of the large amount of bugs that needs to be synced every day.
Using "Fix committed" is ok, since it helps keeping track of fixed bugs even if the bugwatch is broken.

Notice that lucid is still showing 1.5.1-1 in repos. Will this be updated to include this fix before the LTS is released?

Yes, definitely. It's stuck in Debian right now. It'll come through given time.

@Dominic, Banshee is loosely following the GNOME release schedule at this point, so there should be a shiny new Banshee 1.6 release in time for Lucid.
