Upgrading from 8.10 with KVM to 9.04 Alpha 4. when received the error on an IBM Thinkpad T60P.

I can confirm this problem.

The dkms packaging of the kvm module is not correct. It needs some additional smarts in the kvm-source.postinst for upgrades. I'm working on this.
