Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a bug in yelp.
For future reference you might be interested to know that a lot of applications have bug reporting functionality built in to them. This can be accessed via the Report a Problem option in the Help menu for the application with which you are having an issue. You can learn more about this feature at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

I'm not entirely sure why you think this is a bug in Yelp, so I'm removing that task again.

Anyway, thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

hello
here is some more detailed information
dell dimension 9200
dual boot vista and ubuntu 8.10
it has nothing to do with yelp
when i try to restart the computer
the screen goes black
then the ubuntu screen comes on and the bar travels all the way across
then the bar goes black and nothing happens
i would expect it to reboot at this stage
the shutdown works every time
i googled the problem and tried one of the answers
in terminal
sudo gedit /etc/init.d/alsa-utils
around line 353 find command stop)
underneath add two lines
ipconfig wlan0 down
ipconfig eth0 down
save and close
this did not correct the problem
i have not been able to restart the computer in ubuntu since i installed it

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
