When I tried a cdrom upgrade I got a crash that self.progressbar is not definied. I fixed that in the bzr tree now, but the report here is for reference.

Sorry if I'm being thick here, but is it possible to use this patch with the existing CD to allow the upgrade to proceed? I'd like to be able to use the CD I downloaded but I'm not sure how to go about it.

Here is what I did:

mount the cd
start a root shell: gksu
execute the commands of the cdupgrade-script in that shell one by one,
but patch the files before executing the last line.

But right now, the upgrader has crashed, before finishing, so probably
it is not a good a idea to use the cd after all.

I had to kill the upgrade process manually (wvdialconf had stopped working) and run 'dpkg --configure -a' and 'apt-get clean'. but now I am on feisty.
So the upgrade was possible with some troble. I wonder if the patch above is already applied to all the downloadable images.

Have a fresh edgy install with kubuntu (no python-gtk2 installed).

1. insert the feisty alternative CD
2. run "kdesu sh /cdrom/cdromupgrade"
3. click "no" on the "get updated version from the internet"
-> crash

report until step 3 and then say "yes". That should make it continue.

Another question: How to install KDE4 in kubuntu 7.10?

Very Thanks, Martin!
