Bug Description
There seems to be a programming error in aptdaemon, the software that allows you to install/remove software and to perform other package management related tasks.
I can't update my system or software by using Update Manager

I got the same message.
The file I was downloading from Ubuntu Software Center is: Google- chrome- stable version 6.0.472.63-r59945
Installing it to Ubuntu (64bit) 1010
