Yahoo! has defenetli discontinued the service named "Yahoo! PlaceFinder".
Altrnatively, they now have a commercial service with more or less the same functionality, although with a slighly different API:
There's also a free alternative from Yahoo, associated to YQL Tables but limited to 2000 requests per day.
Again, the API is slighty different, and we would have to re-write these geocoding functions in order to use the new API.
