Hi Erik,
before sending back your machine, you should run the original memtest86+ 4.2 or memtest86 4.0a.
I had the same problems with the memtest shipped with Quantal. But with the original ones (burned on CD from iso) there are no memory problems reported!
Quantals version seems to be buggy.
