With nothing (I wanted) to do this afternoon I looked again at this issue. It turns out that changing the view of one Xpad to 'no window decorations' and then back to 'window decorations' causes all existing Xpads to display in the existing workspace and in the 'workspace switcher'. This does not apply to new workpads and does not hold thru a reboot. I imagine to a person familiar with the code this makes sense, but to me it's just a curiosity.
