Not exactly. This AM I first encountered the error:

Exception: Cannot install into C:\ubuntu.
There is another file or directory with this name.
Please remove it before continuing.

I fairly easily located "Ubuntu" in C, it was of zero size so I just deleted it.

Then I rebooted with the Live CD choosing to install inside Windows then removing the disc, pressing enter which causes a reboot, and waiting for the Wubi install dialog to appear on the screen. I then selected 10GB as size, entered my name and password, then this error appeared:

IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'C:\\Documents and Settings\\All Users\\Start Menu\\Programs\\Startup\\wubi.exe'

And I thought that appeared to be identical to the error reported when I opened this bug report.

Just looking now and Ubuntu does not appear in the Control Panel under add/remove, but once again there is a 0 byte folder named Ubuntu in C so I deleted it again.

Note: I have not tried performing a standard Wubi install at any point, only by selecting install inside Windows from the ubiquity allocation screen. But bcbc did, at my request, try a standard Wubi install and said it worked OK.

Do you still want me to repeat this?

You'll notice the time stamp of the first error was 04-26 10:44 and the second error was at 04-26 11:15. I then realized I needed to reset my clock - this box usually resides in my closet.
