I hear what you are saying and appreciate the feedback and explanation... HOWever, this is one reason most M$ users are relunctant to switch. Everytime there is a bug related to user experience, all we get is that it's not ubuntu, it's (fill in the blank). Another example would be the bug where window positions aren't remembered and all we get is that it's not Ubuntu, it's the problem of (name of program).

Let me just close in saying that although I love trying Ubuntu, and Linux has come a long way, there is soooo much room for improvement on some basic functionalities. Until those issues are addressed, competitiveness is null since we don't feel it's stable, we are always wondering if something is going to work every time we use it, and we are always questioning the ability of the OS to retain and preserve our personal data.

Do not misunderstand me, I am fairly tech-savvy and would like nothing more than to dump M$, but for now, M$ works everytime and at best, Ubuntu can only be a hobby.

Best of luck, and I do look forward to each and every release to see if you got it down yet.
