The newest version has been built - you can find it at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wakeup/1.3-0ubuntu2/+build/3875909/+files/wakeup_1.3-0ubuntu2_all.deb
or through the software center, although it may take a little bit for the software center to sync up. Still will consider this for the future.
