I checked with firefox, which changes the title after visiting a different page.
This works like it should in compiz and in metacity. So it seems gnome-terminal
specific. But like i said, it could very well be the fglrx video
driver in combination
with my
02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc M92 [Mobility
Radeon HD 4500 Series]
