I am also experiencing this issue on Debian Jessie. When attempting to boot any operating system using the USB installation image created by unetbootin, kernel panics occur with an output stating, "Failed to load libutiil.c32" and "Failed to load COM32 file /syslinux/menu.c32" When using dd to create a LiveCD or installation, operating system environments and/or installers load normally.
