Chris,
Do you have a separate admin account that you used to install Ubuntu One?
I have XP and my usual account has limited privileges, so I used another account to install Ubuntu One. Running Ubuntu One from the limited account successfully creates a Sync Folder, but doesn't actually sync anything (cpu load is ~60% on Intel T2300). Status is Syncing after over 12 hours with 7 MB of data.
