I believe a 401 means "authentication failed" (check the SyncEvolution "history"/log)... I've tried many times with the N97 selected (since N900 isn't in the list) and I'm sure I've got the user/pw right... ;) I tried all kinds of contacts syncs, and disabled all other syncs (calendar, notes etc.).

Syncing with ScheduleWorld worked great.
