Bug Description

I've been trying to PhoneSync using UbuntuOne with my N900 phone. I'm using the SyncEvolution application from the Maemo repos which supports Funambol for the job, but it seems to fail with status Error 401.

While the phone is not supported I chose a N97 on the https://one.ubuntu.com/phones/ page to get a user/password.

The odd option I did choose was to sync One-Way from Client to avoid my contacts getting erased on the phone. The rest of the options were as per instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuOne/PhoneSync.

Log from SyncEvolution attached. Let me know if you need anything else.

I have the same problem, but I think it's SyncEvolution's fault, from what other users that have tried to use syncEvolution with other SyncML servers. Not sure though

That may be so, the reason I filed the bug was to maybe find out what error 401 means and weather I should be filing bugs elsewhere.

I believe a 401 means "authentication failed" (check the SyncEvolution "history"/log)... I've tried many times with the N97 selected (since N900 isn't in the list) and I'm sure I've got the user/pw right... ;) I tried all kinds of contacts syncs, and disabled all other syncs (calendar, notes etc.).

Syncing with ScheduleWorld worked great.

This is also the case for me

13:23 < beuno> hrw, right, so, phone sync is provided by a third party application (funambol)
13:23 < beuno> hrw, we know it fails with N900's
13:24 < beuno> it is a problem in the client implementation of syncml
13:24 < beuno> hrw, right, we have escalated it to Funambol many times
13:24 < beuno> hrw, the problem is outside of our code
13:25 < beuno> hrw, and our main focus is android and iphone, so no work on our part is going to go into other OSes
13:26 < hrw> ok
