Steve - is this still happening for you with the OS X client?
Does quitting (via the menu bar icon, which quits all the background processes also) and restarting fix it?
If not, could you attach the following logs: (or just email them to me, as they will contain filenames which you might want to keep private):
~/Library/Caches/ubunutone/log/syncdaemon.log
and
~/Library/Caches/ubunutone/log/controlpanel.log
NOTE those log files roll over, so if the program has been running for a while since the last time you tried this, you might want to reproduce it again so it will show up in the log.
