This is also reproducible on the OS X client. When I click the "Share links" tab, I get an indeterminate progress bar with the message "Getting information, please wait..."

Client app is (4.0.1 (ubuntu-sso-client: 1018, ubuntuone-client: 1363, ubuntuone-client-data: 9
, ubuntuone-control-panel: 395, ubuntuone-storage-protocol: 154)). I'm running 10.8.2.

Steve - is this still happening for you with the OS X client?
Does quitting (via the menu bar icon, which quits all the background processes also) and restarting fix it?

If not, could you attach the following logs: (or just email them to me, as they will contain filenames which you might want to keep private):

~/Library/Caches/ubunutone/log/syncdaemon.log
and
~/Library/Caches/ubunutone/log/controlpanel.log

NOTE those log files roll over, so if the program has been running for a while since the last time you tried this, you might want to reproduce it again so it will show up in the log.
