I think it was known ahead of time that using firefox would work
around the problem; meanwhile the real bug goes unfixed. Popcon shows
that a lot of people have epiphany installed, and if someone is
running it it's probably because they prefer it over firefox. I want
my browser properly supported, and it's a popular browser. Suggesting
xdg-open is a red-herring, and it shows a casual disregard for the
issue at hand.
When you have the name "ubuntu" in your name, there's a lot to live up
to. I expect that it works with ubuntu, and my ubuntu includes
epiphany.
