I'm also getting this issue on:

Ubuntu 12.10 on a PC
Core 2 Duo E8400
4gb DDR II ram
60gb Linux Partition on a 160gb Sata II HDD.
Other OS is Windows 7 32bit.
Nvidia Gefore 9600GT.
Dual 190cw Philips Monitors

The screen just says "Getting information, please wait.." forever. I've recieved the welcome email but that's it.
