1. Switching to a console works (to escape from the blank screen) if there has been a running x-session with the vesa-driver before, otherwise not. (regardless if the intel-driver was specified manually as stated above)
2. The intel-driver won't work with an LCD connected via DVI-D-cable.
3. This is perhaps not relevant (or something is wrong with the VESA-BIOS): The vesa-driver produces a blurred image with the DVI-D-connected LCD even in its native resolution (1680x1050@60).
