I have updated to kernel-2.6.35.8-59.fc14.x86_64 from koji, which fixes backlight control and a few other thing, see BZ #651019 for more details.

So ATM I only have two problems with nouveau on MBA3:

- No support of native resolution (seems to fallback to VESA)
- nouveau breaks the resume part of suspend/resume

Should I try rawhide version next?
