I just upgrade my thinkpad t42 on jaunty and i have this problem. The 2D acceleration is slow with EXA, especially with gecko application like firefox or gnome-system-monitor. For exemple, if you reduce the firefox windows, the desktop icon often take several second to refresh, or moving the gnome-system-monitor windows on the desktop is very slow. The other application like nautilus are less problematic, but i feel that they draw slower.
-The fact to go back to XAA with the option 'Option "AccelMethod" "XAA"' solve the probleme.
-The problem seems to go with "DefaultDepth 16"(maybe a problem my 32mB of ram)
have a nice day
