Comment 14 for bug 30284

I've found some problems in the "atiprobe"-part of the ati driver. It's often fixed by choosing radeon as the driver in xorg.conf instead of ati... "ati" is a wrapper that should point to the radeon driver if you have any recent ATI card, but it fails to do so with my card too. I also found out you need to specify MonitorLayout option by hand if you're using DVI connector.

I'm using a X800 PCI-E card. See https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6796 for my findings. Currently working just fine with the open source driver (2D only at the moment, maybe DRI/3D support not enabled in dapper by default?) with the "radeon" and "MonitorLayout" specified.
