i dunno if it got fixed anywhere else
but
i never hoped it would work so easily...
sudo vim /etc/X11/xorg.conf
i changed the usefbdev to false and added a line
driver "radeonhd"
it worked

widget redrawing is kinda slow though :( when are they going to make it fast?
