can I ask you -- (because I still have the laptop (dell wants to pick it up
wednesday)) -- is it fixed now??? you mean I can re-install ubuntu and it will
be ok?

please tell me now so I can start using the laptop (dell inspiron 15R)

Status in “xserver-xorg-input-synaptics” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete

Bug description:
Description of bug/status/progression in forum post below ("IMPORTANT: No
control over touchpad on Dell inspiron 15R makes Ubuntu unuseable").

This bug renders Ubuntu UNUSEABLE with the Dell Inspiron 15R (standard laptop
from Dell) and also laptops which don't use the 'synaptic' touchpad driver (see
forum post).
